Maintenance guide: 10 tips to double the lifespan of your inflatable
Your inflatable is the highlight of any party. And let’s be honest you want it to last as long as possible. Good news: with a little care and smart maintenance, your inflatable can last for years. Here are 10 practical tips to help double the lifespan of your bouncy castle, obstacle course or inflatable attraction.
1. Let your inflatable dry thoroughly
After use, especially in damp weather, it’s crucial to store your inflatable completely dry. Folding it up while still damp = mould, and that’s the last thing you want. So let it air out properly or dry it manually before packing it away.
2. Clean regularly, but gently
Use a soft brush or cloth with lukewarm water and a mild cleaning agent. Avoid harsh chemicals or pressure washers, they can damage the material. A gentle wipe-down is better than heavy scrubbing.
3. Check for damage after every use
Small tears or loose seams can quickly worsen if not repaired in time. Give your inflatable a quick check after each use. See something suspicious? Get in touch, it might need a visit to our service technicians.
4. Store it clean and dry
Tidying up is thinking ahead. Make sure your inflatable is clean, dry and neatly folded when stored. Ideally in a dry, well-ventilated space. Not in a damp shed or under a leaking roof.
5. Use the right blower (and check it too!)
Always use the recommended blower for your inflatable. A blower that’s too powerful or too weak can damage the bouncy castle. Regularly check that the blower is working properly and is free from dust.

6. Anchor securely, even in calm weather
Even a light breeze requires your inflatable to be securely anchored. Flapping or shifting can cause tears or damage underneath. Use the correct pegs or ballast blocks and make sure everything is firmly in place.
7. Avoid overloading
Every inflatable has a maximum number of users and weight limit. Stick to them! Too many children (or overexcited adults) at once causes unnecessary wear and tear.
8. Protect from UV and extreme heat
Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight or extreme heat can dry out or fade the material. Not using the inflatable? Store it indoors or cover it with a light, breathable tarp.
9. Transport with care
Use transport covers or bags when moving your inflatable. Don’t drag it across the ground, lift it or use a trolley. And yes, even that little corner of the trailer matters!
10. Good maintenance means longer-lasting fun
